Verdient jouw scriptie extra exposure? – Het MAB looft scriptieprijzen uit! MAB offers thesis awards! (For English, scroll down)
Een goede academische scriptie verdient het om extra in de spotlights te worden gezet. Het Maandblad voor Accountancy en Bedrijfseconomie (MAB) organiseert daarom ook in 2024 de MAB-scriptieprijs. Doel hiervan is om sterke academische scripties met praktijkrelevantie te erkennen en te waarderen, door deze in de vorm van een artikel te publiceren in het MAB. Als scriptiestudent schrijf je het artikel, al dan niet in samenwerking met je scriptiecoach. Je kunt meedingen naar de MAB-scriptieprijs met een scriptie van een MSc-opleiding of een postdoctorale scriptie (EMFC). Het staat je daarbij vrij om DE SCRIPTIE en het artikel in het Nederlands of in het Engels in te dienen.
De scriptieprijzen
In totaal zijn er maximaal vijf prijzen per kalenderjaar beschikbaar van elk € 1.000. Draagt jouw scriptiecoach bij als medeauteur, dan kan de prijs worden verdeeld (standaard: € 750 student, € 250 coach, maar een andere verdeling is ook mogelijk indien je scriptiecoach meer werk verzet). Eventuele gewonnen prijzen worden al (voorlopig) toegekend op basis van de scriptie. De definitieve toekenning van de MAB-scriptieprijs en uitbetaling van het prijzengeld geschiedt uitsluitend na aanlevering en acceptatie van het artikel. Het MAB committeert zich eraan om een goed geschreven artikel te publiceren op basis van de inhoud van de scriptie. Met het winnen van de MAB-scriptieprijs profileer je jezelf binnen je vakgebied, waardoor er ook nieuwe deuren kunnen opengaan.
Procedure
De jaarlijkse deadline voor het indienen van – kansrijke – scripties is 3 september 2024. Tussentijds zullen wij ook al inzendingen beoordelen, zodra er voldoende binnen zijn. Dus vroege inzendingen zijn van harte welkom.
Voor het indienen geldt als eis een minimaal judicium van 8,0 voor de scriptie. Dit judicium is de drempel, maar niet noodzakelijkerwijs een signaal tot indienen. Bespreek met je scriptiecoach wat je kansen zijn, voordat je je scriptie indient.
Heb je (of hebben jullie) besloten om mee te dingen naar de MAB-scriptieprijs? Dan verzoeken we je om de volgende documenten in te dienen:
· De scriptie
· Een apart document met daarin:
o Een korte samenvatting van ca 0,5 - 1 pagina A4 (1 pagina is het maximum!), waarin de relevantie en contributie worden beschreven;
o Een vermelding of de scriptiecoach de indiening steunt, en of deze als co-auteur wil optreden (dit beïnvloedt de kans op de prijs geenszins).
o Vermelding van het cijfer;
o Eventuele nadere toelichting of submissiebrief (niet verplicht).
Ga naar het MAB online submissiesysteem (www.MAB-online.nl) voor het indienen en vink daarbij de categorie ‘MAB-scriptieprijs’ aan.
Jury
Een deskundige jury (bestaande uit twee redactieleden op het vakgebied van de scriptie), selecteert de beste scripties op het betreffende vakgebied. Het MAB behoudt zich hierbij het recht voor om voortijdig de inzendingsmogelijkheid te sluiten, mocht het aantal aanvragen (te) hoog oplopen. Dit wordt dan op de website aangekondigd.

Het Maandblad voor Accountancy en Bedrijfseconomie is een gerenommeerd wetenschappelijk tijdschrift sinds 1924. De redactie van het MAB stelt zich ten doel lezers te informeren over theoretische en praktische aspecten van – en ontwikkelingen binnen – accounting. Daarnaast publiceert het MAB onderzoek op het gebied van bedrijfseconomie en daaraan verwante kennisgebieden, voor zover relevant voor accounting. Daarbij richt zij zich op wetenschappelijk opgeleide accountants, controllers en bedrijfseconomen (en diegenen die hier voor studeren) en op een ieder die professionele belangstelling heeft voor de behandelde onderwerpen.

MAB THESIS AWARD 2024
A good academic thesis deserves to be put in the spotlight. The Monthly Journal for Accountancy and Business Economics (MAB) therefore organizes the MAB thesis award this year. The aim is to recognize and appreciate strong academic theses with practical relevance by publishing them in the form of an article in the MAB. As a thesis student, you write the article, by yourself or in collaboration with your thesis coach. You can compete for the MAB thesis award with a thesis from an MSc program or a postgraduate thesis (EMFC). You are free to submit THE THESIS and the article in Dutch or in English.
Thesis Awards
In total, there are a maximum of five prizes available per calendar year of €1,000 each. If your thesis coach contributes as a co-author, the prize can be divided (standard: € 750 student, € 250 coach, but a different division is also possible if your thesis coach carries out more work). Any prizes won are already (provisionally) awarded on the basis of the thesis. The final award of the MAB thesis prize and payment of the prize money will only take place after delivery and acceptance of the article. The MAB is committed to publishing a well-written article based on the content of the thesis. By winning the MAB thesis prize you profile yourself within your field, which can also open new doors.
Procedure
The annual deadline for submitting promising is 3 September 2024. We will also assess submissions in the meantime as soon as sufficient theses have been received. So early submissions are very welcome. A requirement for submission is a minimum grade of 8.0 for the thesis. This grade is the threshold, but not necessarily a signal to submit. Please discuss your chances with your thesis coach before you submit your thesis.
Have you (by yourself or with your thesis coach) decided to compete for the MAB thesis prize? Then we ask you to submit the following documents:
· The thesis
· A separate document containing:
o A short summary of about 0.5 - 1 page A4 (1 page is the maximum!), in which the relevance and contribution are described;
o An indication whether the thesis coach supports the submission, and whether the coach wishes to act as a co-author (this does not affect the chance of winning the prize in any way).
o Indication of the grade;
o Any further explanation or letter of submission (not mandatory).

Jury
An expert jury (consisting of two editors in the field of the thesis) selects the best theses in the relevant field. The MAB does reserve the right to prematurely close the submission option if the number of applications becomes (too) high. This will then be announced on the website.
